Who We Are

SICG is a coalition of states, international organizations, NGOs, and civil society actors committed to addressing the multi-dimensional crisis in Sudan. We work collaboratively with local stakeholders, NGOs, neighboring countries, and international institutions to promote peace, stability, and democracy in the region.

Formed in response to the escalating civil war and its humanitarian toll, SICG leverages diplomatic networks, humanitarian resources, and international legal frameworks to push for a peaceful resolution while providing immediate relief to those in need.

Our Mission and Mandate

Our mission is to:

Facilitate negotiations to achieve a ceasefire and promote a lasting peace agreement.

Support the transition to a democratically elected government that represents all segments of society.

Mobilize resources to ensure that aid reaches the most vulnerable, including internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees.

At the core of SICG’s mission is the goal of fostering long-term peace and stability in Sudan, anchored in democratic principles and respect for human rights.

Core Goals

Highlighting Realities on the Ground

Our research underscores how remnants of the former regime continue to obstruct peace, governance, and economic reform in Sudan. Dominating significant portions of the economy and stalling meaningful political transitions, the Sudanese Armed Forces have derailed peace efforts and perpetuated cycles of violence. This situation mirrors Myanmar, where the military’s entrenchment in politics and the economy has hindered progress for decades.

Advocating Democratic Governance

Sudan requires a comprehensive political transformation, including the exclusion of military influence from governance. SICG supports the development of an apolitical, unified military accountable to a civilian-led government.

Facilitating Inclusive Dialogue

We promote dialogue among warring parties, armed groups, political parties and organization, and civil society to foster national reconciliation and inclusive governance.

Alleviating Human Suffering

Humanitarian relief is central to our mission. We collaborate with international agencies and local partners to ensure the unrestricted flow of aid to those most in need.
